Switfkey – the number one Android keyboard which bought by Microsoft this year with a whooping $250 million, has suspends sync services after it was reported to be leaking out users private data such as email address and phone numbers to strangers.
According to reports, multiple Swiftkey users have found other users private data in the suggestions. According to telegraph, one user was shocked after installing Swiftkey on a new device when the app suggest other users email address.
One reddit user, JawaharlalNehru, also reported that the app is suggesting German-Language when he only install UK English pack and suggesting others email when logging in to sites. (Link to album http://imgur.com/a/TVmes)
Swiftkey believes that this error is due to a bug on the keyboards sync features which are use to keep users private data in sync between different devices. Due to this bug, Swiftkey temporarily suspends this feature as they are working quickly to resolve the issue.

Swiftkey issued an official statement and they said, they are already working on how to fix the bug.
This week, a few of our customers noticed unexpected predictions where unfamiliar terms, and in some rare cases emails, appeared when using their mobile phone. We are working quickly to resolve this inconvenience.
While this did not pose a security issue for our customers, we have turned off the cloud sync service and have updated our applications to remove email address predictions. During this time, it will not be possible to back up your SwiftKey language model.
The vast majority of SwiftKey users are not affected by this issue. If you have any reason to believe you are seeing unfamiliar predictions, please contact [email protected]
We take users’ privacy and security very seriously and are committed to maintaining world-class standards for our community.
We will continue to post further updates on our blog.
